The concept for ‘My Good Side’ was inspired by the film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’ - set after World War One, where people of affluence would sit for studio portraits. These prints then became a record of who people were at the time, who had money or influence, how they dressed, who their family units were and a moment frozen in time.
In an age when everyone can take a photo on their phone, could I emulate the practice of ‘off-the-street’ studio photography in a modern setting? This is the result.
All shot in a 3 x 3m gazebo with one studio light and a custom-painted backdrop.
